The Genting Highlands is known for its resorts, theme parks and casinos. Aside from its resort life, visitors flock to the hill station and enjoy the cooler temperature, mountain scenery, strawberry farms, and relatively undisturbed natural rainforest.
The distance from Kuala Lumpur to Genting Highlands is around one hour.
1. Genting Skyway
The Genting Skyway has Asia’s longest gondola. Lift connecting the two terminals located at Gohtong Jaya and the resort Hotel. The 3.38 km long cable route. It takes around 15 minutes during which the visitors can enjoy the magnificent view of the city.
How to reach Genting Skyway
By bus, there are many buses that stop at the Genting Skyway run by the Genting express bus service. One can get onto these buses from the Puduvayal Bus terminal. The bus services run seven days a week with each departing after an interval of 20 minutes. The distance is around 45 minutes to 1 hour. It costs RM 10.
By taking a taxi to the Genting skyway is another good option as taxis are quite easily available in and around the area.

There are lots of parking slots available at the Genting car Park as well as the gondola and cable car station. So, driving all the way up to the Genting Skyway is quite a good idea.
2. Awana skyway Genting highlands
The gondolas connect 3 stations-Awana, Chin Wee and SkyAvenue.There are two types of gondolas. The standard gondola has a capacity of 10 people, and the glass-floored gondola can accommodate 6 people. The cable car takes you from Awana Skyway to SkyAvenue Shopping mall.
How to get to Awana Skyway
* The Awana Bus Terminal is a 48-minute drive from KLCC. The parking costs between RM 2-3 per hour to about RM 12-18 per day. The 4th level of the building is the boarding point of the cable car system.
The Awana Bus Terminal is the boarding station of the cable car and houses an 8-story car park as well.
* There are guided tours available and one who wants hassle-free transport can opt for this.

You can get down at Chin Swee, enjoy the glorious views and the Chin Swee Caves Temple, and then continue the journey to the peak or back to Skyway at no extra cost.

3. Genting premium outlet
Genting premium outlets is a boutique shopping complex near Gohtong Jaya. Connected to Awana Sky Central via Bridge. This fancy mall features 150 designer brands and retail stores including Adidas, Timberland, Swatch, Tomei, Hugo boss, Coach, Brooks Brothers, and many more.

This is in Awana Skyway, after visiting GPO you can take the cable car to Chin Swee cave temple and stop here, then after visiting the temple you can continue by cable car to Sky Avenue Genting or the peak.

4. Genting Snow World
The most fun thing at Genting Snow World is sliding down on a tube on the Cresta Run Toboggan Slide and the 3D Art attractions. You can make snowmen and have fun!
Genting Snow World is a recreational artificial indoor snow village, spread over an area of 22,800 square, on Level 2A of First World Plaza. Styled like a winter European village, there’s the setup of an English tea shop, ancient Roman castles, a telephone booth, a pizzeria, and a bakery to give the perfect vibe.

5. Genting Casino
The Genting Casino is an icon in Pahang, Malaysia. There are two main casino outlets in the resorts, Genting Casino in Genting grand complex and Sky Casino in Sky Avenue mall.

6. Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park

7. Genting Outdoor Theme Park / Sky Worlds
Genting Sky Worlds is an amusement park at resorts world, Genting Highlands, Malaysia, 1800m above sea level. It features different experiences suitable for all kinds of people. It was formerly known as 20th century Fox World, Malaysia, a movie-inspired theme park. The theme park is 26 acres in size and would feature roughly 25 thrill rides and attractions.
The entrance area is like stepping into a movie theatre lobby, with retail stores and a Starbucks café. It resembles the one at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, with golden carvings of the various film franchises decorating each entrance of the park, Studio Emporium. There is a colorful water fountain topped with the Genting Sky Worlds logo just outside its doors.
Genting Sky Worlds is filled with colorful decorations, sculptures, and high-tech lighting.

8. Genting Strawberry Leisure Farm
Once entered, you will be greeted with a big water fountain and fresh strawberries. Once the buds bloom, the fruits will appear in a week’s time. The fruiting cycle is three months and after five fruiting, the plant has to be replaced. There are some 10,000 plants on this farm! Strawberries are not the only cultivation – mushrooms, herbs, flowers, and vegetables are also grown here commercially in adjoining nurseries.
Within the six-acre land is the Lavender Garden. No extra admission fee is imposed on visitors to enter the garden. Besides lavender, there are many other types of flowers.
In the orchard, visitors could opt to purchase pre-packed strawberries at the price of RM15 per box weighing 250 grammes, or self-pick is a very popular family activity that is included in the entrance fee.

Walk around the farm
The strawberries with seedlings originated from California and were supposed to fruit throughout the year here at Genting Highlands due to the generally lower temperature.
How to go to Genting Strawberry Leisure Farm
The Strawberry farm is situated next to the Gohtong Sports Center complex. The farm is close to the main road you will not miss it. You can take a taxi to reach the farm directly.
From the Awana skyway, aboard the shuttle bus ( free of cost ) to Awana Hotel and walk to the farm.

9. Chin Swee Cave Temple
The Chin Swee Caves Temple is a Chinese temple in Genting Highlands. It is situated in the most scenic site of Genting highlands, a 28-acre plot of rocky forested land donated by Genting group. Located 4600 feet above sea level. The temple is about a 5 to 10 minute’s drive down from the peak of the mountain.
One of the most striking features of the temple is its towering statue of Buddha which stands 15 m tall. Visitors can climb up to the statue and offer their prayers. The temple complex also features several other attractions like a garden, fish, pond, and a pagoda. This pagoda is a seven-story structure. Visitors can climb up to the top of the pagoda and take in the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and forest.
Another popular attraction at the temple is the sky Terrace, which is a glass flowed platform that extends out from the side of the mountain. The sky Terrace Offers a thrilling experience as visitors can look down at the sheer drop below them and enjoy the view of the surrounding landscape.

Visitors can use the Awana skyway to reach Chin Swee Caves Temple. Just take the gondola Lift down to chin swee station and get off at no extra cost. You can also use the same ticket to continue your journey.

10. Arena of stars.
Arena of stars is a 45,000 square feet musical amphitheater in Genting highlands. It was built in 1998. The hall has a capacity of about 6000 seats. It is also known for its famous world and national lion dance and Dragon dance competitions.
In 2002, the amphitheater hosted the third IIFA awards, which honor the artistic and technical excellence of professionals in Bollywood. Sitting in the amphitheater is divided into five categories according to cost. This is the perfect venue for dazzling concerts, attention grabbing live shows, and adrenaline-pumping sports events. It’s an arena truly for the stars.

Level two and level three of this mall consist of several lifestyle, brands, and accessories such as Rayudu Swara, ski, coach, and many others selling the latest gadgets, perfumes, shoes, handbags and others.

12. Gohtong Jaya
This is a satellite town of Genting Highlands located on a plateau, is 5 km below the peak.
In recent years, the area has seen a spree of development resulting in new commercial districts and high-rise premium Condominiums sprouting over the valley. Gohtong Jaya is also known as a food town specializing in Chinese cuisine streets, and local fruits.
The central portion of the town is composed of a shophouse lined on a linear part along the main road occupied, mostly by restaurants. This is also the gateway to the summit of the cable car via Awana Skyway.

17. Sky Symphony Genting
This is a theatre of light and sound where kinetic light performance installation is in sky Avenue mall, Genting highlands. Sky Symphony installation is Asia’s largest performance display.

The multi-colored balls create floating models of flowers, animals, and a variety of other interesting shapes. The LED screens around the atrium provide an outstanding visual experience, combined with brilliant music and animation. The Lim Goh Tong Memorial Hall is a monument built to honor Tan Sri Dato Seri Lim Goh Tong the late founder of Genting Highlands and prominent Malaysian entrepreneur, it is within a private park.
A wooden sculpture of Goh Tong sits atop brilliantly colored flowers near his tomb, with a beautiful, paneled backdrop, depicting the landscape of Genting Highlands. A fountain and stunning views of the valley make this an ideal photo stop. One gets to learn about the history of the world-renowned resorts, themes, parks, and casinos within this highland area. The Memorial Hall is approximately 1 km from Gohtong Jaya.
